Feather Edge Boards
An alternative to fence panels, is Feather Edge Fencing manufactured from vertical posts along with rectangular arris rails, the boards are overlapped to give a stronger fence more likely to stand up to higher winds and gales than lap panels. 150mm wide feather edge boards are available in two lengths from stock which are 1800mm and 2400mm, so that your fence can be made to the height you require. This type of fencing lends itself more to gardens that are on a slope, as the feather edge boards can be fitted to match gradients. A professional fencer uses feather edge fencing to make a strong, durable fence with boards that are easily replaced.
Feather Edge Fence
At Shropshire Building Supplies we have cut our own feather edge board which is cut out of 200mm x 38mm strength graded and pressure treated planed timber. We have found this popular for VERY heavy duty fences, but is especially used for cladding of barns, garages and has even been used on barn conversions. The lengths in stock vary depending upon what packs we can buy in, but usually are over 4.2mtr, up to 4.8mtr.
