Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is not actually real flooring but looks like it, with the appearance being provided by a photographic image of wood. This is placed on top of a core board made of compressed fibres like MDF and the material is covered in a melamine wear layer, which is what gives laminate flooring its famed toughness. It is less likely to scratch than wood and easy to clean, making it ideal for a crowded and busy house.

It is also easy to install as most suppliers that Shropshire Building Supplies use have some type of ”click” system installation, which means everything just fits together like a jigsaw without any need for glue or nails. Laminate comes in different grades with the highest (and toughest) ones being suited to large commercial premises.

Laminate flooring generally can be used with underfloor heating and in conjunction with noise reducing underlay. Because of the way laminte flooring is produced there a literally hundreds of different thicknesses and widths available and take into account the different colours and styles you have a seemingly endless amount to choose from. We have provided some sample colours below, but suggest that the easiest way to navigate laminate flooring is by clicking HERE and following the link to one of our main suppliers website.
